Job Description
Join our team at the UNIDO Country Office in Nairobi, Kenya, where you will immerse yourself in the world of international development. As a Development Support Intern, you’ll gain invaluable experience working alongside seasoned professionals in promoting sustainable development initiatives across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gain firsthand exposure to the core functions of the Country Office, participating in day-to-day operations and receiving on-the-job training.
- Support the implementation of the Partnership for Country Partnership (PCP) Kenya and its technical cooperation activities, including project identification, resource mapping, and reporting.
- Contribute to UNIDO’s engagement in the SDG Partnership Platform technical working groups.
- Assist in data collection and consolidation for various reporting purposes, including UNSDCF reports and UNIDO periodic reports.
- Participate in UN technical working groups, seminars, and conferences, preparing briefs for the office.
- Compile best practices and lessons learned from UNIDO interventions.
- Aid in organizing and reporting on virtual and physical meetings, workshops, and seminars.
- Assist with communication efforts to promote UNIDO initiatives and activities.
- Provide ICT support to the field office and project staff, managing ICT services and providing onsite assistance.
- Undertake additional special projects to enhance the internship experience.
Minimum Requirements:
- Age: Minimum 20 years at the start of the internship.
- Education: Enrolled in or recently completed a university degree programme relevant to UNIDO’s mandate.
- Field of Specialization: Environment, economics, business administration, ICT, or related field.
- Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English required; knowledge of other UN languages preferred.
- Other Skills: Proficiency in standard software applications; previous exposure to project management advantageous.
