Position Overview
The company is looking for an Underwriting Intern to join their team. This internship will offer valuable hands-on experience in insurance underwriting, risk assessment, and policy analysis. Key Responsibilities
- Engage in a comprehensive training program on the fundamentals of insurance underwriting
- Participate in workshops, mentorship sessions, and on-the-job training
- Assist in analyzing insurance policies, including coverage, terms, and conditions
- Learn how to assess risks associated with various insurance products
- Develop proficiency in using data analysis tools to evaluate underwriting data
- Support research efforts that contribute to underwriting decisions
- Assist in maintaining accurate underwriting records and documentation
- Organize and manage underwriting files
- Shadow and learn communication best practices with clients, brokers, and internal teams
- Develop written communication skills for preparing underwriting reports and correspondence
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to underwriting discussions
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in insurance underwriting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Collaborative and able to work well in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
