About the Job

Position: Tele-Sales Trainee
Location: Kenya
Type: Internship/Trainee

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Tele-Sales Trainee to join our fast-growing team. This role is integral to our sales strategy, aiming to drive over 60% of the total sales into the company. The Tele-Sales Trainee will excel in telephone salesmanship, lead generation, and customer engagement, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.

Job Descriptions

Mission Statement for the Role: 

Surpass your sales targets through outstanding telephone sales techniques, generating leads, initiating calls with prospects, and building ongoing relationships with existing and potential customers.

Overall Responsibility: 

Achieve sales targets and contribute to delivering 60% of the company’s total sales.

Financial Responsibility: 

Collect customer payments via M-PESA.

Key SMART Results for A-Player:

  1. Achieve an average of over 100 sales per month on a rolling 3-month average by the end of 2024.
  2. Follow the tele-sales process precisely, ensuring the highest industry customer satisfaction rates by the end of 2024.
  3. Maintain a 100% work attendance record, fully compliant with company policies and procedures by the end of 2024.
  4. Make a minimum of 100 unique calls daily via 3CX (inbound and outbound) with a daily talk time of 4 hours by the end of 2024.
  5. Ensure all allocated leads on the Sales Lead Generation Database are contacted within agreed timelines, with all fields updated correctly by the end of 2024.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Minimum of 2 years experience in a busy tele-sales environment.
  2. Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets.
  3. Exceptional customer service and telephone etiquette.
  4. Strong communication skills and working knowledge of the latest tele-sales technology.

Skills:

  1. Relentless drive and highly competitive nature.
  2. Exceptional salesmanship skills.
  3. Tactical, scrappy, with relentless energy and focus to exceed targets.
  4. Ownership of clarity and accuracy in forecasting and pipeline management.
  5. Experience selling home internet services, particularly to low-income and informal communities.

Languages:

  • Proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of Swahili is an added advantage.

Eligibility and Selection:

  • Proven experience in sales with a record of hitting/exceeding targets.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  1. Monitor and respond to all DMs and comments on social media feeds.
  2. Create and post engaging content to boost audience interaction and attract new followers.
  3. Stay informed about online trends and ensure Shamiri Institute’s content aligns with our brand guidelines.
  4. Analyze social media metrics and gather audience feedback to share with the Communications team.
  5. Conduct research to support team projects and strategy development.
  6. Provide suggestions on how to grow social media channels and enhance community engagement.
