Job Description

As a Tech Hub Intern at Save the Children, you will be an integral part of our Nairobi technology hub, focused on delivering global services to all Save the Children countries. You will join a dynamic team responsible for developing and maintaining various applications and systems used by Save the Children globally. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience in software development and technology innovation while contributing to meaningful projects that impact the lives of children worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Tech Hub team on the development and maintenance of applications and systems.
  2. Assist in the design, coding, testing, and debugging of software solutions.
  3. Support the implementation of new features and enhancements to existing systems.
  4. Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality and performance.
  5. Contribute to documentation efforts to ensure clear and comprehensive records of software development activities.
  6. Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in software development to inform project decisions and optimizations.
  7. Engage in problem-solving and troubleshooting to address technical issues and challenges effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong programming skills and proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Git, JIRA).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Passion for leveraging technology to make a positive impact on society, particularly in the context of children’s welfare.
