Job Description

As a Safety & Security Intern at Save the Children, you will play a vital role in providing coordination support for safety and security operations. Working under the guidance of the Operations Coordinator, you will assist in ensuring the safety and security of our team members and program activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide coordination support for safety and security operations.
2. Assist in the implementation of safety and security protocols and procedures.
3. Support the Operations Coordinator in conducting risk assessments and security evaluations.
4. Monitor and analyze security trends and developments in the operational area.
5. Assist in organizing safety and security training sessions for staff members.
6. Help maintain accurate records of security incidents and response activities.
7. Contribute to the development of safety and security guidelines and policies.
8. Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminology, International Relations, or a related field.
• Strong interest in safety and security issues, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
• Previous experience or coursework in safety and security is an advantage but not required.
