Job Description
As an IT Intern at Save the Children, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Area Offices with IT innovations and technical support. Based in Nairobi, you will collaborate closely with our field teams, providing remote assistance and occasional on-site visits to address IT-related challenges and implement innovative solutions. This internship offers hands-on experience in IT support and project management while contributing to our mission of creating a better world for children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to Area Offices, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, network configuration, and user training.
- Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement innovative IT solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure.
- Monitor and maintain IT security measures to protect organizational data and systems.
- Support the rollout of new IT initiatives and projects, ensuring smooth implementation and user adoption.
- Document IT processes, procedures, and user guides to facilitate knowledge sharing and training.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the IT field to inform decision-making and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of IT systems, networks, and software applications.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
- Previous experience in IT support or project management is a plus.
