Job Description

As an IT Intern at Save the Children, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Area Offices with IT innovations and technical support. Based in Nairobi, you will collaborate closely with our field teams, providing remote assistance and occasional on-site visits to address IT-related challenges and implement innovative solutions. This internship offers hands-on experience in IT support and project management while contributing to our mission of creating a better world for children.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support to Area Offices, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, network configuration, and user training.
  2. Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement innovative IT solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  3. Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure.
  4. Monitor and maintain IT security measures to protect organizational data and systems.
  5. Support the rollout of new IT initiatives and projects, ensuring smooth implementation and user adoption.
  6. Document IT processes, procedures, and user guides to facilitate knowledge sharing and training.
  7. Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the IT field to inform decision-making and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of IT systems, networks, and software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
  • Previous experience in IT support or project management is a plus.
