About Urgent Action Fund Africa (UAF-Africa)
Urgent Action Fund Africa provides technical, financial, and solidarity support to African Women’s Human Rights Defenders and their movements. They help these defenders prepare for and respond to urgent situations with timely and effective actions.

Position Overview
UAF-Africa is seeking a Programmes Support Intern to assist with project management and administrative tasks across its programmes. This role involves coordinating diverse projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outcomes, and contributing to the achievement of the Fund’s goals. The intern will work closely with the Programmes Director and support various aspects of program management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating programmatic briefs and reports
  • Synthesize information to identify trends in key program areas
  • Document programme learnings and successes
  • Track budgets and monitor programmatic commitments and deadlines
  • Support monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) processes
  • Assist in organizing internal and external meetings, including scheduling and documentation
  • Provide logistical support for programme-related events and initiatives
  • Maintain and update the Programmes Calendar, flagging key milestones and deadlines

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Women’s Studies, Political Science, International Development, Law, or related fields
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of project management experience, providing administrative, analytical, and technical support
    • Experience working in virtual environments is a plus
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage project timelines
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French is a plus)
    • Understanding of gender equality and women’s rights issues, especially in Africa
    • Familiarity with feminist movement building and feminist political analysis
    • Ability to work in a team, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
    • Willingness to travel within Africa and internationally when required
