About the Organization
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a non-profit organization based in Geneva, Switzerland, founded during the UN’s 2002 Special Session of the General Assembly on Children. GAIN is committed to fighting malnutrition by building public-private partnerships and providing technical and financial support to ensure that nutritious food reaches those most at risk.
Position Overview
GAIN is seeking a Project Assistant to support the development and management of various initiatives aimed at improving global nutrition. This role will provide administrative and logistical assistance to ensure projects run smoothly. The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating tasks, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, ensuring tasks are completed on time
- Collaborate with the Project Coordinator to support project communications and prepare progress reports
- Organize and plan stakeholder meetings, ensuring efficient information flow
- Provide administrative and logistical support for meetings, workshops, and events
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Project Management, or a related field
- Experience:
- Some experience working in an administrative or project coordination role (including group work at university)
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Skills:
- Proficiency in written and spoken English (additional languages are an advantage)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of project management principles
- Proficiency in computer applications and digital tools
