About the Job

Nova Pioneer is seeking a talented Math/Physical Education Teacher to join our Tatu Primary School team immediately. This role involves delivering an exceptional 21st-century learning experience and contributing to our mission of developing future innovators and leaders across Africa.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching: Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Math and Physical Education.
  2. Relationship Building: Maintain positive, constructive, and professional relationships with students, their families, and colleagues.
  3. Curriculum Development: Develop lesson plans and collaborate with the Learning Design Team to update lessons as needed.
  4. Classroom Environment: Create a conducive learning environment that is developmentally appropriate and organized.
  5. Student Engagement: Infuse joy and passion into lessons to excite and engage students.
  6. Accommodations: Provide necessary accommodations and modifications to support all students’ growth and success.
  7. Accountability: Be accountable for students’ mastery of content and academic standards.
  8. Technology Integration: Incorporate interactive technology to enhance instructional delivery.
  9. Goal Setting: Set and communicate ambitious goals for all students and provide effective feedback.
  10. Behavior Management: Provide consistent rewards and consequences for behavior and model expected behavior.
  11. Organizational Goals: Consistently meet the ambitious goals of a rapidly growing organization.
  12. Additional Duties: Serve as teacher on duty, support school-wide programs, capture student data, support clubs and societies, and serve as a homeroom teacher as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Certification: TSC certificate.
  2. Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Education specializing in Math/Physical Education or Coaching Certifications.
  3. Experience: 1-3 years of experience in teaching Math/Physical Education.
  4. Technology Skills: Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  5. Communication: Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Flexibility: Ability to handle uncertainty and adapt to changes.
  7. Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying and addressing issues.
  8. Cultural Fit: Excitement about Nova Pioneer’s organizational culture and commitment to mutual vulnerability and feedback.
  9. Leadership: Desire to develop and apply leadership skills to transform the lives of African youth.
