About the Job

Nova Pioneer is looking for a dynamic Kiswahili/CRE Apprentice Teacher to join our Tatu Primary School team immediately. This role is crucial in delivering an exceptional 21st-century learning experience for our students, helping develop the next generation of innovators and leaders in Africa.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Creating a Safe Learning Environment: Ensure the classroom is a safe and secure place for students.
  2. Activity Planning: Develop activities that cater to the social, physical, and emotional needs of the children.
  3. Curriculum Development: Prepare schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the school’s curriculum.
  4. Stimulating Learning: Schedule and implement stimulating learning activities.
  5. Teaching Aids Preparation: Create and use teaching aids to facilitate children’s learning.
  6. Supervision: Monitor students during learning and playtime, ensuring their safety and engagement.
  7. Assessment: Observe and evaluate each child’s progress, providing detailed reports to school leaders and parents.
  8. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and development.
  9. Classroom Management: Establish and enforce rules for behavior, maintaining order among students.
  10. Experiential Learning: Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, and guest visits, guiding students in learning from these experiences.
  11. Additional Duties: Assist with bus loading/unloading and attend professional development sessions.

Qualifications and Experience


  1. Education: TSC certification and a Degree in Education or P1 Diploma.
  2. Experience: 2-3 years of experience teaching Kiswahili/CRE.
  3. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  4. Flexibility: Ability to handle uncertainty and adapt to changes.
  5. Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying and solving issues.
  6. Organizational Fit: Excitement about Nova Pioneer’s culture and a commitment to continuous improvement.
