About the Job

We are seeking a professional and friendly Host/Hostess to join our dynamic team at Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel. This full-time role is crucial for creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests and ensuring smooth operations within our dining areas.

Job Descriptions

As a Host/Hostess, your main responsibilities include:

  1. Consistently providing a professional, friendly greeting and engaging service to guests.
  2. Understanding the Server’s tasks and assisting guests with food and beverage menu items in an informative and helpful manner.
  3. Coordinating the dining room’s seating arrangements by planning ahead and anticipating business fluctuations.
  4. Ensuring storeroom requisitions are accurate and assisting in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the dining areas.
  5. Conducting frequent inspections of the outlet areas and reporting any deficiencies to the Assistant Outlet Manager.
  6. Following all outlet policies, procedures, service standards, and safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
  7. Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Previous service experience is an asset.
  2. Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems is beneficial.
  3. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  4. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Highly responsible and reliable.
  6. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
  8. Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
