About the Role

Join Amotech Africa as a Finance Intern in Nairobi, Kenya. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world financial operations under the guidance of experienced finance professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare payment vouchers for suppliers and other payments, maintaining accurate records.
• Reconcile supplier balances and ensure alignment with supplier statements.
• Assist in filing statutory deductions to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Support petty cash management and ensure accurate transaction accounting.
• Assist in bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Support payables management, ensuring timely posting and payments.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities to gain insight into financial planning.
• Assist in project costing and ensure proper documentation of financial records.
• Track and process employee expense requisitions and claims as per company policy.
• Contribute to improving financial processes and efficiency through data analysis and reporting.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, or CPA Part II.
• Preferably 3-6 months of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Basic knowledge of Kenyan taxation laws and statutory deductions (e.g., PAYE, VAT, NSSF, NHIF, Withholding Tax).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is an added advantage.
