Engineering Trainee

About the Role

Join Kempinski as an Engineering Trainee in Nairobi, Kenya. This Internship position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the Hotel industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that mechanical technicians adhere to set working hours.
• Submit FF&E requirement to the Plant room/supervisor/Assistant /Chief Engineer.
• Ensure that quality workmanship is observed.
• Perform periodic preventive maintenance for machines and equipment.
• Plan and schedule maintenance of equipment without interfering with normal operations.
• Perform daily checks for Laundry and Kitchen Equipment.
• Ensure preventive maintenance is done as scheduled.
• Advise storekeeper on required items and ensure quality items are delivered.
• Replace burnt-out bulbs and inspect public areas for electrical faults.
• Service and repair electrical equipment.
• Facilitate guest rooms and property maintenance.
• Monitor servicing and maintenance of plant equipment.
• Prepare Daily Utility consumption report.

Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in an engineering course from a recognized institution.
• No work experience required.
• Less than one year since completion (2024/2025).
• Kenyan Citizen.
• Completed coursework (even if not graduated).
• Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment.
• Excellent grooming skills and professional etiquette.
• Good communication skills.
• Outgoing with a positive learning attitude.
