As a Procurement Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our procurement activities to ensure the efficient sourcing of goods and services for our organization.

Job Purpose/Mission: We are seeking a Procurement Assistant to support the procurement process, including supplier sourcing, contract management, and documentation management. Your role will contribute to maintaining high standards of procurement practices within our organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Source potential suppliers and conduct prequalification assessments in line with company policies.
  2. Assist in purchasing goods and services for ENGIE Energy Access Kenya and its employees.
  3. Identify cost-saving opportunities and streamline procurement procedures.
  4. Organize and maintain procurement-related documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  5. Update and manage procurement databases and tools for efficient order tracking and supplier management.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
  7. Support the Procurement Officer in day-to-day tasks and projects as required.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience:

  1. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Procurement or a similar role.
  2. Knowledge of Supplier Sourcing & Contract Management.
  3. Strong analytical, bargaining, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  4. Excellent sense of urgency, time management, and organizational skills.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Procurement or related field.

Language(s):

  • English
  • Kiswahili

Technology:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and purchasing software; knowledge of SAP is a plus.
