Communication Internship

About the Role

Join the National Taxpayers Association (NTA) as a Communication Intern in Nairobi, Kenya. This Internship position offers an exciting opportunity to strengthen the organization's brand identity and manage social media engagement in the NGO sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Strengthen brand identity by developing communication products, including digital media, reports, publications, flyers, and posters.
• Develop, execute, and report on social media engagement plans.
• Create concepts and ideas to visually communicate project goals.
• Ensure content and design align with the house style and brand.
• Engage in internal communications activities for broad exposure to the organization.
• Support institutional development and communication through media pitching, website presence, and promotional materials.
• Analyze and optimize monthly social engagement analytics and ad performance on all platforms.
• Develop and manage online fundraising and policy influence campaigns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a relevant field.
• Basic experience/knowledge in using X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and email as communication channels.
• Experience with social media design tools.
• Understanding of how social media contributes to policy change campaigns.
• Passionate learner and self-starter with a 'learner-focused' mindset.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
• Strong ethics with the ability to manage confidential data.
• Good written, oral communication, and report writing skills.
• Good time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
